Police officers throughout the world are unfortunately o¯en faced with an uncomfortable criminal event, the sexual abuse or violation of children. Not only have these juveniles been the victims of traumatic experiences, but the police investigators must understand that they are likely to face difficulties when interviewing young children who may not fully comprehend the extent of the criminal conduct. Clearly specific training is needed and the following research study will reveal critical issues that law enforcement officials and social workers must properly understand in order to better deal with these unfortunate incidents.
