ABSTRACT

Color changeability of reaction solutions underlies the assumption of a two-stage (at the least) character of the reaction involving a charge transfer.6 Indeed, a large value of the energy of electron afœnity (EA) of a fullerene molecule at relatively low ionization potentials (IPs) of amines trivially provides a high contribution of donor-acceptor (D-A) inter action to the total intermolecular interaction (IMI). A general consideration of this factor role is presented in Section 1.2. In this chapter, we address the feature in regards to reactions of fullerene C60 with a particular set of amines-an interaction that allows describing the typical zones of contact of the fullerene with different classes of amines, on the one hand, and disclosing different types of D-A-affected IMI potentials, on the other.
