ABSTRACT

Conclusion This book, which is dedicated to the computational consideration of basic peculiarities that put fullerene nanoscience in a particular place, considers two basic problems, which are related not only to fullerenes but also to sp2 nanocarbons. The former is connected with the odd electron character of their nature and addresses the weak interaction between the electrons. The latter originated with the strong donor-acceptor abilities of the species, which drastically inšuence the manner of the odd electron origin manifestation in due course of intermolecular interaction. The two features are tightly interconnected, which makes fullerene nanoscience so pic tur esque and attractive. The appearances of fullerene nanoscience peculiarities are quite extensive. They include nanochemistry, nanomedicine, nanophotonics, and nanomagnetism. They cover electronic and structural properties as well as a particular character of intermolecular interaction. An analysis of all this diversity can be done quantitatively, from the uni-œed point of view, within the framework of the same scope of ideas and concepts.
