ABSTRACT

Real-time 3D rendering immerses players in virtual worlds. The majority of the budget, time, staff, and code in a modern game is invested in modeling and rendering 3D scenes. The ideas and technology for game rendering are not limited to games alone. They are a part of the broad scientific, engineering, and industrial field of computer graphics. That covers disciplines as diverse as creating product images for billboards, movie special effects, robot vision, and MRI images for doctors.
