ABSTRACT
Some basic types of mine machinery systems (Chapter 2.2) are involved in so-called ‘continuous mining’. This concerns both underground and surface mining operations. A general principle for machinery systems of this kind is that excavation, hauling and dumping is accomplished continuously. There are also some particular pieces of mine equipment that can be encountered in this class but this is hard to detect at first glance (see Chapter 7.6).
