ABSTRACT

Implementing the process can be as di®cult as de›ning it, especially if the organization does not currently have a patch management process in place. If an organization is just revamping the process, implementing the recently modi›ed process can be an easier task to accomplish. Regardless of the state the organization is in, the standard steps-plan, design, implement, operate, and maintainshould be completed. Organizations will be dealing with patch management on an ongoing basis for the unforeseen future. It is important to de›ne a patch management process not only that can grow with an organization but also one that can be well integrated into the organization’s standard operating procedures. It is important for organizations to do their due diligence when it comes to planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining a patch management process.
