People are your biggest strength and risk. If you consider that 80% of your people are honest, depending on the situation-and paradoxically 80% of your people could be dishonest, depending on the situation-then your biggest risk is people. As a friend of mine says, “Silicon does not fail much; carbon units fail many times.” He is referring to the fact that the technology usually has high availability and that most mistakes or events are caused by human error. žis is where policies, practices, and processes are the most important part of risk management. You must have good monitoring and audit of these practices and processes.
