The plant is found throughout India at the height of 2000 feet. In the Ayurvedic system of medicine, the plant is reputed as an anti-

obesity agent. In addition, it is considered to be carminative, cholagouge, alterative and anti-diuretic. The leaves and stem bark of H. integrifolia are used for skin diseases, obesity, and cancer. The leaves decoction is used in the management of diarrhea.
