ABSTRACT

Mixing is one of the common unit operations used in the preparation of different types of formulations in the nutraceutical industry, such as liquids, tablets, capsules, and compound powders. Mixing is most widely used when two or more substances are combined. Every product needs perfect mixing, in which each particle of one material lies as close as possible to a particle of another material. Mixing of nutraceuticals depends on the type of the product and the objective of mixing. It is a unit operation in which a uniform mixture is obtained from two or more components by dispersing one into the others. The larger component of the mixture is called the continuous phase, and the smaller component is called the dispersed phase.
