ABSTRACT
As one of the 27 components identi›ed within the Milky Way and with an estimated 21 million tons annually produced worldwide, formaldehyde is everywhere! It is indoors and outside, naturally occurring and manmade. It is a by-product of combustion. It is used in the production of home and of›ce products. It is used in cosmetics, and it is in many of our foods both naturally and as a contaminant.
