Warning: Trizol or phenol is very toxic and should be handled carefully. For protection, gloves, laboratory coat, and safety glasses should be worn while handling this material. Gloves should be changed periodically during RNA isolation to minimize RNase activities. Whenever possible, Trizol reagents or phenol should be handled in a fume hood with a glass door placed between one’s face and the inside of the hood.
