ABSTRACT

The key is to implement solid project management concepts, tools, techniques, and methods to execute the project. In all likelihood, many of them were ineffectively implemented or missing in the first place, contributing to the deplorable state of affairs. A project is a system that requires continuous maintenance to ensure that degradation does not occur. Too many times, unfortunately, disciplines are applied on projects but soon become outdated or are not followed; one of the main reasons is that people forget that the new system, in this case the project, requires constant attention and feedback on its progress to achieve the vision and execute the plan. Developing a new vision, such as a charter, and building a plan, including a schedule, does not guarantee a successful outcome. It requires key stakeholders to maintain focus on the vision and plan.
