ABSTRACT

Nanostructured magnetic materials have gained increasing attention in recent years in emerging biological and medical applications such as magnetic separation, drug delivery systems, diagnosis and bioelectronics.1−5 Due to their biodegradability, non-toxicity and low cost, a number of natural occurring polymers have demonstrated great potential as biomaterials.6−9 The combination of magnetic nanoparticles with natural polymers offers the opportunity to develop composite materials merging properties from the individual components.
