ABSTRACT

Rapid expansion of the fuel ethanol industry has resulted in a dramatic increase in the availability of distillers coproducts as livestock feed. Continued development of the biofuels industry has brought challenges and opportunities for beef producers and cattle feeders alike. A recent study (Shurson, 2009a) indicated that 38% of the national distillers grains production not destined for export is consumed by beef cattle. This value is likely to remain similar, relative to total production of distillers grains, as new coproduct streams become available (Shurson, 2009b). Between 2007
