ABSTRACT
The basic equipment for performing discharge measurements is a current meter, a timer, sounding equipment, and a tagline. A current meter consists of an impeller, which, when placed in the stream, rotates in proportion to the speed of water passing the instrument. The rate at which the impeller rotates is recorded by an electronic counter that is heard on earphones or a counter or acoustic doper.
