ABSTRACT
The existing žnancial mechanisms and instruments related to the management of chemicals and hazardous wastes include a variety of arrangements that may be tied to compliance with conventions obligations, or funding of activities generating global environmental benežts (GEB). Other arrangements are channeled through the development and implementation of national programs supported by development banks such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, and other multilateral institutions, such as UNDP, UNIDO, UNEP, FAO just to mention a few.
