ABSTRACT
Engineering education is college-or university-level study that prepares students for a career as an engineer. A certain number of courses in mathematics, basic sciences, engineering sciences, engineering design, and other studies are required. Some schools offer ‰ve-year or more cooperative plans that combine classroom study with practical work in industry (commonly called co-op). Besides the four-year bachelor’s degree, there are programs of study leading to a master’s degree, which may or may not require the production of original research or a Doctor of Engineering or PhD degree, which always requires original research. A doctorate is usually required to teach in schools of engineering.
