ABSTRACT
Industrial Engineering (IE) is concerned with the ef‰ciency of the functioning of operating systems, such as manufacturing, supply, service, and transport. The American Institution of Industrial Engineers de‰nes IE as an area of engineering “… concerned with the design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems of men, materials equipment, and energy. It draws upon specialized knowledge and skill in the mathematical, physical, and social sciences together with principles and methods of engineering analysis and design to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems” (Martin-Vega, 2011, p.1.11).
