ABSTRACT
Shape recognition, such as identifications of characters, industrial parts, airplanes and logos, is one of the important application areas in computer vision. A logo typically consists of an iconic or graphic portion and possibly some associated text. The iconic region may be as simple as a combination of a few geometric shapes or as complex as a gray scale or color picture. Several examples of logos are shown in Figure 1.1.
