ABSTRACT
Mechanics can be dened as the science that describes and predicts the condition of rest or the motion of bodies under the action of applied forces. Static analysis is used when the body is in equilibrium (at rest) and is subjected to a force system. Static analysis is the study of centroids, the center of gravity, and moment of inertia of free bodies. It also includes nding the resultant forces and moments acting on a free body and depicting these results diagrammatically.
