ABSTRACT

In this chapter Bayesian evaluation of informative hypotheses is introduced. The main concepts involved are explained using a simple two group ANOVA model and the hypotheses: H0 : µ1 = µ2, H1 : µ1 > µ2, H2 : |µ1 − µ2| < 1, and Ha : µ1, µ2. The explanation is based on figures and descriptions to increase the accessibility of this chapter for behavioral and social scientists. The more statistically oriented reader is referred to Appendices 3A and 3B
