ABSTRACT

Remediation cost is a subject of controversy. It is in many instances closely related to conventional construction. It often tends to be more costly because of the additional safety, environmental, and permitting requirements. Testing and the protocols employed are often a signi”cant part of the costs. Depending upon the level of dif-”culty and the local geology and many other factors, remediation can be inexpensive or very costly. This chapter is about what it takes to de”ne costs and how to look at those costs in order to develop an estimate.
