ABSTRACT
One method of evaluating lubrication properties of a hydraulic –uid is to perform a test in the hydraulic pump (or motor) of interest. However, this is clearly impractical in view of the numerous pump manufacturers and models that are available. This issue may be further complicated because various types of pumps may be congured differently or manufactured with different materials, depending on the pump manufacturer. This problem could be greatly simplied with the use of one or at least a limited number of “standard” hydraulic pump tests.
