ABSTRACT
Introduction Neither economic growth nor planning for economic development takes place in a vacuum at the local level. e preparations to enable a community to evolve for new or expanding employers seek to accommodate that growth by preparing land, office buildings, and other facilities to house the growing workforce as well as the improvements in infrastructure and other community assets that enable communities and businesses to be successful. As such, economic development planning must be thoroughly enmeshed with land use planning, transportation planning, and the financial planning of the city or county. Cross-checked preparations such as these enable not only compatibility in physical overlay but also a consistency in scheduling and potentially significant efficiencies in funding.
