ABSTRACT
Connections are assemblages of parts that transmit from one member to others, the forces and moments that the member must resist at the point of connection. Their design is the nonquantiable, nonautomatic phase of design, what engineers call their art, the art of linking together members that results in higher quality structures with the least amount of material.
