ABSTRACT

In the first chapter in this book readers were briefly exposed to the rationale for conserving energy and a variety of financial methods that can be used to determine the viability of replacing or acquiring equipment based upon the potential reduction in energy consumption. In this chapter we turn our attention to understanding a number of electrical terms that provide us with the ability to compare and contrast products from the same or different vendors based upon their energyrelated specifications. us, this chapter can be considered as similar to the first in that it builds up a base of knowledge for readers.
