ABSTRACT

Now that we realize who the suicide bomber is-what he or she can and cannot accomplish-we can say almost certainly that the bomber and his terrorist organization are unlikely to bring down a government, not that they don’t want to; they just can’t. They may threaten governments; they may kill civilians; but they are unlikely to force a government to surrender. However zealous radical Islamists are, only rarely have they actually replaced existing “in‚del” regimes with Islamic states that abide by Islamic (Sharia) law.
