ABSTRACT
Though we focus in this manual on the modern era of suicide bombing, we take note that the phenomenon of suicide killings dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries. Then the Assassins, disciples of the Persian master Alamut, carried out suicide raids in ancient Iran against enemy leaders in nearby fortresses.
