ABSTRACT

Creating an effective project team climate, where each team member gives up their individuality in recognition of the team’s collective goals and interests, represents a significant challenge that will encounter some difficulties. Effective team performance ultimately relies on creating a cohesive project team that is characterized by work efforts and interactions that are empathetic, synergistic, and cooperative. Irrespective of the extent of the changes to be implemented, the project will be defined by certain characteristics that show it as a separate and distinct work effort. The development and implementation of information systems that incorporate new information technologies and communications represents a considerable effort for any public or private organization. A project represents commitment to a unique work effort. It is planned and performed by the project team, a collection of qualified individuals who are brought together for the sole purpose of completing project work.
