ABSTRACT

The subsystems identified in earlier phases of the systems development life cycle are reviewed and subjected to additional design scrutiny. The purpose of the system design phase is to define the equipment, appliance, or device to be developed and set up to resolve the problem, including the design of each and every component, and specifying how they are integrated to solve the problem at hand. The customer relationship management system must be designed to allow the registration of all queries raised by customers, and, in turn, to generate relevant reports from the knowledge obtained during face-to-face interactions. From a technical perspective, the design will need to show how the various communication channels, system components, and user interfaces are to be integrated. System design can often be a rigorous and time-consuming process, and anything done to shorten this process, either in terms of time or effort, threatens the quality of the resulting system.
