ABSTRACT
In Chapter 12, we examined how “things” are introduced into evidence. In this chapter, we will look at the issue of materials used to help the decision maker better understand an issue but that are not introduced into evidence. Like the law on introducing things into evidence, there are no provisions in Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE) regarding this issue; it is all common law found in court decisions.
