ABSTRACT
The performance of a control system depends on both the controller and the plant. For some plants it is easy to achieve good performance, while for some others it is not. This chapter considers a class of plants referred to as integrating plants, which is difficult to control. The basic feature of an integrating plant is that its model contains integrators. The integrating plant is a specific type of unstable plant.
