ABSTRACT

This chapter begins with the implementation phase by conducting a Change Management Effectiveness Survey. One of the key factors that affects an organization’s ability to implement present or future changes is its past implementation success. Prior implementation difficulties are likely to be repeated in new projects. Therefore, an assessment of previous implementation experience is critical in planning for future changes. Mitigation plans should be developed for all the high risk barriers to successful implementation of the Strategic Plan and the Organization Alignment Plan. The implementation plan defines the activities required to successfully carry out the project on time, within budget, and at an acceptable quality level. After establishing objectives for communication, management has to identify who should receive what information, which is a major implementation issue. In a growing number of cases, outsourcers finish the product, put on the logo, and ship it to the user or distributor, which creates many implementation challenges.
