ABSTRACT

In stark contrast, for any proprietary software product, development is constrained by the amount of time and money a software vendor can a”ord. So there is a limit up to how much the product can be tested or further developed. ¡is constraint does not apply to the open source community. Each developer involved in open source development works on his own and can contribute as much as he wants. And since it is open to anybody in the world, a large number of developers can contribute to the same product.
