ABSTRACT
With an expanding spectrum of high-risk immunocompromised patients in recent years, clinical cases of human mycoses due to saprobic and opportunistic fungi have shown a dramatic increase. Acrophialophora fusispora in the genus Acrophialophora represents a poorly known, thermotolerant fungus that has been documented as the cause of human eye and lung infections as well as cerebral brain abscess.
