ABSTRACT

The genus Arthrographis consists of several –lamentous fungal species that are commonly isolated from soil and compost. Within this genus, Arthrographis kalrae is an uncommon human pathogen, and has been shown as a causative agent for onychomycosis, mycetoma, sinusitis, endophthalmitis, keratitis, endocarditis, and other diseases, especially in immunocompromised patients. This fungus produces cream-colored colonies that can be mistaken for those of Candida albicans.
