ABSTRACT
Members of the genus Mortierella are saprobic zygomycetous fungi belonging to the order Mortierellales. Among them, the thermophilic Mortierella wol¡i is recognized as a pathogen, being an important casual agent of bovine mycotic abortion, pneumonia, and systemic mycosis (mortierellosis or mortierellomycosis).
