ABSTRACT
This chapter compares and summarizes data from limnological studies conducted in major internal deltas, lakes, rivers, wetland areas and reservoirs at various different altitudes and latitudes in Central and South America. The principal features of aquatic ecosystems are presented as well as the methods to approach the study of limnology.
