ABSTRACT

The vector equation (1) is a short representation of the Navier-Stokes equations and (2) is the continuity equation. In equation (1), it is assumed that the mass forces (e.g., the gravitational force) are potential and included into the pressure. In what follows, the system of equations (1)–(2) will be called, for brevity, the Navier-Stokes equations (without distinguishing the continuity equation) and the ratio of the pressure to the fluid density, p, will be called the pressure.
