ABSTRACT

The chemistry literature is vast and well organized, but unfortunately, in the world of organic synthesis, is fraught with inconsistencies and errors in the reporting of experimental procedures. How can a chemist trust what is documented? If reproducibility of experimental results is challenged, how will this re±ect on the whole of chemistry, and to the wider scienti“c community? This chapter is dedicated to highlighting some of the most nagging problems. Their impact on the development of green chemistry is also discussed.
