ABSTRACT
Attrition is one of the gravest problems that business process outsourcing call centers have to contend with. It dents revenue and productivity, and additional cost, time, and effort have to be spent on hiring and training. Flagging prospects in the United States and Europe, due to the ongoing slowdown, resulted in reverse brain drain. Burgeoning new economies abroad are causing talented immigrants to be homeward bound. For more than four decades, India and China suffered a major brain drain as many talented professionals left their homes for the United States. Economic downturn takes a toll on people’s health. The financial slowdown has played havoc with America’s health, increasing stress and fear regarding personal finances and the economy. As many as 80% of Americans were stressed, with women being the worst sufferers according to a survey by the American Psychological Association.
