ABSTRACT
In Chapter 5 we introduced the importance of eliminating processes and transactions that had been established to support a batch manufacturing process once Lean manufacturing controls are in place. The chapter described the framework for evaluating what can be eliminated and listed some changes that can be made when a company is first embarking on the Lean journey, implementing pilot cells, and experimenting with the Lean thinking process.
