ABSTRACT

This chapter is organized into four sections to explain the results of the research outlined in the next two chapters. The first section identifies the pairings of injunctions and matched controls, and demonstrates the similarities between them as sufficient to proceed with inferential analyses. The second section addresses the primary and secondary hypotheses of this research, that calls for service would be significantly decreased in injunction areas, both compared to baseline and compared to matched controls. The third section includes further or exploratory analysis of the results, to include results by gang ethnicity, gang injunction size, injunctions by county, total gang size, and injunction area size. The fourth section of this chapter reviews the injunctions on a case-by-case basis describing the injunctions and controls, broken down by Part 1 crime, Part 2 crime, and total calls for service.
