ABSTRACT

Why an injunction is more or less effective when compared to another is an interesting question. This police officer survey sought to expand upon the research study in Chapter 8, in which 25 injunctions were evaluated and compared against control gangs to further understand why, or why not, the injunctions were effective. This survey questioned police officers who work gangs in the 25 gang injunction area jurisdictions evaluated in the multicounty analysis in Chapter 8 during the same time period. This survey explored what the police officers tasked with enforcement of a specific injunction believe helps or does not help make gang injunctions more effective, and more importantly, what variables impacted the specific injunctions evaluated.
