ABSTRACT
Metals are distinguished by their opacity, reªectivity (metallic shine, metallic mirror), and conductivity. All of these properties are related. Reªectivity depends on high conductivity. Conductivity is high since there is no energy gap at the Fermi level (HOMO-LUMO gap), between the occupied and unoccupied levels.
