Horizontal Arrangement of Parts and Tools

Parts in a self-balanced line should be presented or arranged in a horizontal fashion: in the order they are to be assembled and in one contiguous, horizontal line down the line or cell (see Figure  7.1). Because operators are progressing down the line as they assemble, parts, if they ­t, must be presented in front of them at their point of use on the line.
