ABSTRACT

Data presented in the previous chapters demonstrated that following uptake into the absorptive cell of either an amino acid chelate or chelate/complex, signi‘cant intracellular hydrolysis can, and probably does, occur prior to transferring its metal ion into the plasma. However, not all of the absorbed amino acid chelate or chelate/ complex is hydrolyzed within these cells. Some of these molecules remain intact and are transferred to the plasma as such.
