ABSTRACT
Our strategy for soœware maintenance measurement is to develop an as-simple-as-possible approach for assisting those decision makers involved during soœware maintenance, which provides these insights by addressing their basic information needs. To identify these needs, we have postulated the questions listed in Table 12.1 within eight identi§ed measurement areas of focus that follow. ese focus areas were de§ned using guidelines issued by the Practical Systems and Soœware Measurement (PSM)5 initiative whose aim is to generate a set of measures that support the achievement of an organization’s overall business goals and strategies (in this case, those of a soœware maintenance organization).
