ABSTRACT
After Independence, the Constitution of India was framed and the new legal framework was established. The new water laws are discussed in Section 6.2. The legal framework was first established and practices developed as water resources development was undertaken during the British regime. These provide the basis on which advances are being made. It is discussed in Section 6.3.
