ABSTRACT
The river basins of India have been classified into four groups, namely, (1) Himalayan rivers, (2) Deccan rivers, (3) coastal rivers, and (3) rivers of the inland drainage basin. Having considered the Himalayan rivers, we briefly consider the development of the rest of the three groups.
